Submission - Code Of Conspiracy
Blistering ( 2009 )
You might remember Submission from our Top 20 Albums of 2006 or you might know Kasper Kirkegaard (rhythm guitar), Boris Tandrup (bass) and Morten Lowe Sorensen (drums) from another favourite on the show: The Arcane Order. Christoffer Petersen (lead guitar / back vocals) and Lasse Sivertsen (vocals) complete the band.
This is the Danes' sophomore album, showing a heavier and faster side of Submission, more thrashy than their debut (and I loved their debut). The result is a kind of Soilwork meets Meshuggah hybrid, but retaining Submission's own identity, these guys are no copy-cat!
Full of splendid catchy riffs wrapped in the solid rhythm section with that unmistakable Hansen drums sound, the album was recorded with Jacob Hansen, so needless to say the production is spotless. Also, new vocalist Lasse Sivertsen does an excellent job, both on growls and clean vocals.
We've waited long for this, but good things come to those who wait!
