Ever since the release of Sweet Vengeance in 2003 I always saw Nightrage more as a collaboration project than a real band. Having said that, there’s always been something about Nightrage that make me like them, maybe I could somehow sense their underlain potential.

I enjoyed their second album Descent Into Chaos (2005) but they still weren’t a well gelled band
So when news of their signing for Lifeforce records and the addition of a new vocalist and drummer arrived, I got really excited about this album. I wanted to like it, I want it to like it so much!

Well, I don’t like it, I LOVE IT! One listen to the album and it blew me away. At last here is the unity that was missing before. Nightrage are finally a true band and that’s reflected in their music.

A New Disease is Born sounds contemporary and fresh and is full of memorable tracks. The guitar work by Marios on this album is truly remarkable and new vocalist Jimmie Strimell has added vocal diversity as he’s got great screaming as well as singing abilities.

Bassist Henric Carlsson and drummer Alex Svenningson close the circle ensuring a firm and powerful rhythm section. To top it all, the album has been produced by non other than Jacob Hansen, this man is simply outstanding.
