Scarlet ( 2006 )
There’s something very special about this band and it’s not just the fact their vocalist is Soilwork’s Björn Strid, although that helps let’s face it. The way they write music: immediate, incredibly melodic, very complete; the way they know how to write intoxicatingly catchy songs. Italian Disamonia Mundi deserve much more attention than they’ve been getting and certainly much more promotion too, good bands need to be heard after all.
Mind Tricks is their third album and the second with Strid. Don’t expect Soilwork Part II though, they might understandably get close in style to the Swedes, but Disarmonia Mundi have their own sound and personality.
One listen to the title track and you know there’s something great about these guys, only bands with that special ‘it’ can write something like that, a perfect kick ass track that will withstand time, and it’s not the only one on the album which also includes a cover of Pantera’s Mouth For War, their tribute to Dimebag.
Swedish metal Italian style, sounds perfect to me!
