Impressive second album from these Dutch metallers with a Meshuggah rhythmic vibe and even a splash of Devin Townsend at times, but way more melodic and diverse than the Swedes and more technical than the Canadian.
A concept album as it revolves around a central theme, mixing powerful riffs with beautiful passages and complex changes of rhythm and moods. New singer Eric Kalsbeek nails down both growls and very nice clean vocals.
If you’re into technical death with balls, great riffs and melody, this album is a good starting point and while you’re at it, check their debut ‘Polars’ which is excellent in its own right.
