Their debut album awarded them the 'new comers' category on my show in 2008. Now Degradead have just released that always difficult sophomore album and prove, fair and square, that they aren't In Flames little proteges, but have their own identity and sound.
This time the album has been produced by Jonas Kjellgren of Scar Symmetry and mixed by Daniel Bergstrand. The overall sound is much harder and yet very melodic, with a lot of the focus on the guitars. Great riffs and solos supported by a solid rhythm section and to top it all, Mikael's fabulous growls and clean vocals, which fit like a glove both on more aggressive bits and catchy hooks.
Degradead head the new generation of melodic death bands, just as they sing on the album: future is now!
