I must confess, at first listen there was something in me fighting not to like this album, perhaps something to do with the clean vocals, not quite my style, but the truth is that ‘Random End’ is full of good tunes and so, Misery Inc. have won me over.

Despite this being their second album, the Finns sound experienced and confident in their aggressive, yet incredibly melodic style. Whether you’re into classic, trash, power or progressive metal, you’ll get into their groove as there are well combined elements of all styles. Vocalists Jules Näveri and Niko Mankinen do an excellent job both on growls and clean vocals, never overpowering each other.

A very complete album, definitely one of the surprises of the year. It’s nice to lose the battle to a band like this.
