Raunchy - Death Pop Romance
Lifeforce ( 2006 )
Let's forget for a minute that such thing as sub-genres (hardcore, melodic death, metalcore, etc) exist and perhaps compress them all into one "melodic metal" genre. Raunchy's new album is exactly that, a great melodic metal album. The Danes have managed to integrate all the ingredients that bring the inevitable comparisons to bands like In Flames or Soilwork, without compromising heaviness or riffs (in fact there are more than a few!) and the combination of growly and clean vocals is perfectly balanced. To top it all off, the production is impeccable. Call them hardcore if you will, but to me "Death Pop Romance" is simply awesome!
