Deadlock - Earth.Revolt
Lifeforce ( 2005 )
One of the biggest surprises of the year. Deadlock might not have been very well known in the past but their ‘Earth.Revolt’ album surely is impressive and might represent the platform they needed.
Bordering melodic death, black and even gothic metal, without sticking 100% to any of the genres. Rather than falling into no-man’s land, the Germans manage to tie everything together and make it sound cohesive, innovative and inspiring.
‘Earth.Revolt’ is one of the most complete albums I’ve heard this year. Dark, epic, melancholic, gorgeously melodic and wonderfully produced. Harsh vocals are complimented by twin guitars, orchestral arrangements and even some beautiful female vocals (and not the operatic kind we’re growing so tired of these days).
Keep them coming Deadlock!
