- Deus Deceptor
New Hawen ( 2002 )
Debut album by new Melodic Death band fronted by Arch Enemy's ex-vocalist Johan Liiva with Johan Reinholdz on guitar and bass and Matte Modin on drums. Produced by Tommy Tagtgren (yes, you guessed it right Peter Tagtgren's brother)at Abyss Studios in Sweden, a recording that took only 12 days this being a deliberate move to retain the rough edges. Catchy and uptempo tunes in perfect harmony with Liiva's vocal style. Even only for the track "A Halo Askew", obvious single if singles were a common thing in this genre, it's worth checking this album, after you've danced to it a thousand times you'll open your ears to the rest and discover that there's much more. An album full of anger and turmoil, Deus might be...far from Deceptor. It comes out June the 8th. Go get it!
